There will be a new rangers ' ride on Saturday 14th November meeting at Queen's square at 9.45. We are going to do a circular ride up to Severn Beach up the 4 and back down the 41 or catch a train. We won't be signing but may make a few notes on the way.

Several newcomers will be riding and if anyone else wants to come they would be very welcome. Just let me Colin know at colin.hendy@blueyonder.co.uk

We had a windy and at times wet stall last Saturday (October 24) at the Climate Change festival.  We managed to get quite a few signatures for the bicycle belle petition. Thanks to Shirley, Chris and Emma for their help.

20 Oct 2009 Next North-West Bristol Ranger Group Meeting will be on 10th December. See the Calendar page for details.

A message from our sponsors! Colin, Peter H and Martin Mc hope to see you there.

Dear Bristol Sustrans Volunteers

You are invited along to Bush House (above the Arnol Fini) on Thursday 15th of October. The evening will bring together the 4 volunteer groups of Bristol.

The evening will consist of updates from Sustrans staff and the volunteer Programme. It will be a unique opportunity to meet with neighbouring Bristol groups and hopefully build relationships to involve and support each other in the future. If you notice anyone missing from the list please do invite them. Let me know though so that I have an idea of numbers.

5th Floor Bush House Narrow Quay GB-BS1 4QA- Ring the buzzer for the hub on the night to be let in. Head up the stairs to the 5th floor. Arrive at 6.45 to grab yourself a hot drink before prompt start at 7pm.

Let me know if you are able to attend or not if you haven’t let me know already.

Best wishes and hopefully see you next week!

 30 July:
-
Portway Cycletrack - Adrian Bass has been clearing back the vegetation - and we now have a broad highway from Shirehampton to Hotwells - lets hope we can keep it that way and get the surface improved - some works are due within the next few weeks but not sure what.
- Lawrence Weston Greenway - BCC Parks department have cleared back the hedgerow along the Henacre Open Space. The path still needs to be cleared and the Barracks Lane end needs attention - this info has been passed on to the contractor for scheduling.

17 June - Notes of 11 June meeting and revised route allocations added to documents page.

10 June - The Portway Cycletrack - thanks to all of you who have complained to

Bristol City Council about the pavement parking, the debris on the track and the

overgrowth. The Parking Department have made efforts to reduce the parking problems; Street Cleaning have cleaned the path and it is now scheduled to be cleaned weekly (so far so good); Adrian Bass is clearing back the vegetation - and has made a good start. The path is supposed to be cleared twice a year.

10 June - Work is underway to re-route NCN 26 from the Avonmouth Bridge towards Portishead, I think along the old railway line. Other routes off The Sheepway, further towards Portishead, are also being developed.

10 June - Save the Malago Greenway! Having saved the Bristol to Bath Railway Path, attention has now moved to the alternative Bus Rapid Transit proposal which would impact the Malago Greenway. A Yahoo Group has been set up to keep people informed but nothing on it yet http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/malago/

17 April 2008 - Documents Section - Added Proposed Measures document for

the Walking & Cycling Proposal for Hopetoun Road, St. Werburghs to

Muller Road, Lockleaze

17 April 2008 - The latest edition of "Bristol- A map for cyclists" is now

available (And I guess the other 3 areas) - I picked one up from the Sustrans

office on Tuesday. It shows the location of the "Hour Bike" facilities - due to launch in June, I think. There seem to be a few errors on my patch (RR 10) - let me know if you spot any and I'll pass them on.
